Presque Isle Conservation District

Presque Isle Conservation District was formed to conserve, restore, and protect local natural resources for the public good and enhance the wise use of our natural resources. Their annual tree and shrub sale is every May and offers information on invasive species, forest preservation programs, soil erosion advice and more.  PICD manages all lands under its administration and ownership (currently the Herman Vogler Conservation Area) for the public commons and for the benefit and conservation of natural resources. In early 2022, PICD was designated as the County Enforcement Agency for Presque Isle County's Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Program and considers the protection of water quality in our local streams and rivers to be of the highest importance.
